As a native Virginian I find inspiration from the beauty of the natural history surrounding me. The lakes, mountains and seashore offer a chance to capture their splendor throughout the four seasons, each one bringing about a unique vista.
I like working in different mediums; oils, watercolors, drawings and pen and ink. When starting a landscape and still life work; the subject usually reveals itself to me on the best way to represent it.
As a youngster, I was always engaged in art. I was constantly creating something in the basement; paint-by-numbers, watercolors, drawing, pottery or handcrafts. I had the passion to create and it stuck with me.
I studied graphic and web design and became enamored in in fine art.
I continued my study of watercolors and oil at the Art league in Alexandria, Virginia.
However, I consider myself mostly self taught through books, workshops and art groups.
